Do you have a dream to become an entrepreneur, but can’t seem to make it happen? You’re not alone; this blog post is for people like you who are struggling with the decision of whether starting your own business is right for you.
There are many reasons why someone might become an Entrepreneur. For some, it is the challenge of building something from scratch and seeing it grow. For others, it is the lure of financial freedom and the ability to be their own boss. But for me, it was neither of those things.
For years I talked myself out of pursuing my own goals while instead working my tail off to help others whom in most cases had little to no appreciation for me achieve theirs. To this day I still hesitate to claim the title of Entrepreneur because I want to distance myself from any association with the example mentioned earlier. It is only recently that I have realized that in order to achieve my goals, I need to accept that I am an Entrepreneur whether I like it or not.
The funny thing is, once I made peace with this fact, a lot of things started falling into place. The first was tuning into the right people and tuning out voices that attempt to hold back or hang on to the status quo. Second, I started taking risks that I never would have before and finally, I started to see results.
No longer will I allow others to define me, my role or my value. I am as I think. I am an Entrepreneur because I could not find anything that allowed me to use all of my talents in one place. I am an Entrepreneur because it is the only way that I can be true to myself and live a life that is congruent with my values. And I am an Entrepreneur because it is the only way that I can make the impact that I want to make in the world.
If you are like me and Entrepreneurship is not something that you have ever considered, I invite you to take a closer look. It may just be the path that you were meant to take all along. There is nothing like the satisfaction of using your talents to help someone overcome an obstacle because you have their best interest in mind and not a payday.
